Marlene Wang, MD is an ophthalmologist, retina specialist & vitreoretinal surgeon at NJRetina. Dr. Wang received her undergraduate degree at Cornell University and her medical degree from Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She then completed a residency in Ophthalmology at Columbia University Medical Center – Edward S. Harkness Eye Institute followed by a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery at Harvard University – Massachusetts Eye and Ear.
Dr. Wang has received several honors and awards, including recognition from the National Eye Institute Association in Vision Research in Ophthalmology (ARVO). As a fellow at Massachusetts Eye and Ear, she received the 2021 Retina Patient Care Award. She has presented at national and regional meetings including the Association for Research and Vision in Ophthalmology (ARVO), Women in Ophthalmology (WIO), Vit-Buckle Society, New York Academy of Medicine and the Atlantic Coast Retina Conference. Dr. Wang has authored numerous publications in peer reviewed journals including the American Journal of Ophthalmology, British Journal of Ophthalmology, Clinical Ophthalmology, Retina Specialist and the Annals of Surgical Oncology.
Dr. Wang is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). She is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
Dr. Wang enjoys yoga, hiking, volleyball, cooking, traveling and painting when not caring for patients.
