Richard M. Klein, MD
Dr. Richard M. Klein joined NJRetina in 1979. Dr. Klein earned his BA from Amherst College, Massachusetts, graduating cum laude, and he received his MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore.
Dr. Klein completed his residency in ophthalmology at Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital in New York City and remained there to complete his fellowship training in vitreoretinal disease and surgery.
Dr. Klein is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark, NJ. He is on the medical staff of Chilton Hospital, Englewood Hospital, Hackensack University Medical Center, and the University of Medicine of Dentistry of New Jersey.
Dr. Klein has researched, published, and lectured at national meetings on numerous topics in ophthalmology including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, endophthalmitis, Retinal hemangioma, choroidal melanoma, retinitis pigmentosa, retinal vascular occlusion, ocular coloboma, pneumatic retinopexy. He has also published a book on Vitreous Surgery.
Dr. Klein is married and has three wonderful children. His hobbies include gardening and fly fishing.
