Stuart N. Green, MD
Dr. Stuart N. Green joined NJRetina in 1980. Dr. Green obtained his undergraduate degree from Tufts University in Boston and his MD from Mt. Sinai Medical School in New York City, where he was valedictorian of his class and attained Alpha Omega Alpha honors.
Dr. Green remained at Mt. Sinai for his internship and residency in ophthalmology, before completing fellowship training in vitreoretinal disease and surgery at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami.
Dr. Green is the Chairman Emeritus of the Department of Ophthalmology and Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He is Chairman Emeritus of the Department of Ophthalmology at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he serves on the medical staff.
Dr. Green is also on staff at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood and Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune, NJ.
Dr. Green has researched, published, and lectured at national meetings on numerous topics in ophthalmology, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, endophthalmitis, myopic degeneration, pneumatic retinopexy, and temporary balloon scleral buckle surgery for retinal detachment. He has been a Principal Investigator in several national clinical trials.
